Plans Overview

Playroom offers three pricing tiers to suit different project stages:

Free Plan

  • 10 unique users per day
  • No credit card required
  • No API key required
  • Great for prototypes and personal projects

Lite Plan

  • $10/month base
  • 10,000 Monthly Active Users (MAU) included
  • $0.0015 per additional user above 10,000 MAU
  • Ideal for indie developers and small studios
  • Pay only for what you use

Custom Plan

  • Enterprise pricing available
  • Contact our sales team for details

How We Calculate Charges

We charge based on Monthly Active Users (MAU) — unique users who opened or played your game from a new device during the calendar month, from the first day through the last day.

No hidden fees. We only charge for Monthly Active Users. Server uptime, bandwidth, and API calls are included at no extra cost. Your bill is calculated automatically at the end of each month based on your actual usage.

Getting Started

How to Buy a Plan

  1. Sign up at the Playroom Dev Portal
  2. Select your plan — Choose your plan
  3. Add billing — For paid plans, enter your payment method
  4. Create your first project — This generates your unique gameId
  5. Start building — Use your gameId in your Playroom Kit integration

How to Upgrade Your Plan

  1. Log in to the Playroom Dev Portal
  2. Go to dashboard — Open the dashboard and click the currently selected plan (for example, the Lite plan) in the top right corner
  3. Select a new plan — Choose your plan
  4. Confirm — Update your billing information if needed
  5. Immediate activation — Your new limits take effect right away

Your usage is tracked automatically. You’re only charged for users above your included limit.

FAQ

Can I try Playroom for free?

Yes. The Free plan gives you 10 unique users per day with no credit card required. Perfect for testing and development. Upgrade anytime when you’re ready to go live.

What happens if I exceed my Monthly Active User limit?

With the Lite plan, you’re automatically charged $0.0015 for each additional MAU above the included 10,000. There are no surprises — you only pay for actual usage.

Can I change plans anytime?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately.

Do I need an API key to use Playroom?

No. You only need a gameId. Your gameId is automatically generated when you create a project in the Dev Portal. Find it in your project’s Configuration → General tab.
