Playroom Kit for Vibe Coding Announcement Image

Today we’re announcing a new direction for Playroom Kit.

Playroom has quietly been in the works for over two years. From day one, the ambition has been simple: become the go-to multiplayer infrastructure for studios, indie developers, and solo builders. Last year alone, Playroom Kit powered experiences that reached over 50,000,000 users across apps and games.

Along the way, we’ve watched the community build amazing things with Playroom Kit. People have used it to ship fun social games like Blackjack, Karaoke Party, Bad Cards and many more indie experiences.

This year we noticed a growing adoption in new developers, AI native companies and individuals embracing vibe coding. We believe Playroom is here to support the next generation for collaborative app builders. Instead of building yet another vibe-coding platform, we built technology that works with whatever platform developers already prefer; like Replit, Lovable, Base44,Claude, Cursor, Codex, Oasiz and more.

Playroom Kit handles multiplayer rooms, shared state, player management, and syncing without you having to run servers. It works for games but also collaborative apps, whiteboards, dashboards, and any experience where people need to interact in real time.

We’ve refreshed our docs and resources to make Playroom Kit easier to adopt for not just games, but the next generation of collaborative apps:

  • A refreshed documentation experience that’s easy to read and easy to use.
  • A comprehensive llms.txt so tools and search engines understand Playroom Kit’s value.
  • An MCP server that can be plugged into coding assistants and platforms.
  • Better examples and guides for collaborative apps and social features.

You can explore the updated docs here:

Some people say vibe coding can’t produce scalable software. With Playroom Kit, scalability is handled automatically - from prototype to millions of users.

Try this prompt anywhere to get started:

Build a "Live Canvas" \- a multiplayer drawing application. The application should be created using React as a frontend framework and Playroom Kit as a multiplayer framework.
Use the Playroom Kit API: https://docs.joinplayroom.com/api-reference/js/llms-full.txt
Use the React Hooks wherever possible: https://docs.joinplayroom.com/api-reference/react/llms-full.txt

We’re working on more features and examples. We’re open to feedback, ideas, and partnerships from the community and from companies who want to make multiplayer easier to build and adopt.

2026 will be the year we make multiplayer accessible to every builder, not just backend experts.
